Every patient is different. It is possible that he could, but it is also possible that enough of the cornea will have been removed in the first surgery that it cannot be done again.

He will need to check with his doctor to determine the correct answer for his specific situation.

its not how many "times" you have lasik thats the problem in high myopes. lasik is routinely performed more than once on some people...its called "enhancement".

its how much cornea you have vs how much Rx you have thats the problem.

lasik makes your cornea thinner to get rid of your myopia/astigmatism. the more Rx you have the more cornea the laser needs to burn away. well you have to leave enough corneal thickness so that your eye wont rupture if you have an injury or something later. you cant take out -20.00 diopters and leave your cornea paper thin and still expect it to work and not rupture.

so, it really depends on what your Rx is vs how much cornea you have. go get a lasik consult (free) and someone will perform an ultrasound corneal thickness measurement (pachymetry) to see if you have a thick enough cornea to allow for lasik on your individual Rx
